Pelvic Floor?! Physical therapy for my vagina!?! I just don’t understand how you’re going to help me.

This is what so many patients first say when they are referred to me for pelvic floor physical therapy.  My patients have usually been living with their complaints for so long that they think nothing can help.  It’s our goal at Revelle to prove this misconception wrong; it’s never too late!

First of all, what is your pelvic floor?

Your pelvic floor is made up of muscles and other tissues that form a sling from the pubic bone to the tailbone, and side to side from your sit bones. These muscles assist in maintaining proper posture, support your abdominals and pelvic organs, and help to control bladder, bowel and sexual activity.

What kind of issues can pelvic floor physical therapy treat?

  • Ab Separation/Diastasis Recti

  • Bladder Pain

  • Birth/Push Prep

  • Cesarean scar sensitivity

  • Constipation

  • Endometriosis

This list is NOT inclusive! There are so many other things we can treat! Some of these issues are super personal, and we get that.

Here at Revelle, we each became pelvic floor physical therapists because it’s our passion to help other women with issues that are hard to talk about and even harder to get care for. If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at info@therevelle.com or schedule a free consult below!

Why are we not DEMANDING better care for ourselves as mamas?

Probably because we are too busy taking care of baby, the house, the laundry, the cooking, the cleaning, our partner, the rest of the family and oh yea and add in a full time job for some of us too!

This is why we created REVELLE!

We are here to REVELLE-utionize the care we receive as pregnant and postpartum women!! We had so many questions about our bodies during pregnancy and several issues postpartum that were not being addressed and feeling brushed off was not ok with us.

We knew that we deserved better.

All of us - WE ALL DESERVE BETTER!
